Ďakujeme, že ste sa rozhodli podporiť chlapcov z rehabilitačného centra Bosco Boys Langata v Keni, ktoré SAVIO o.z. podporuje cez svoj dlhoročný program adopcie detí.

Ahoj! Som Juraj. Nachádzam sa v Afrike, medzi chlapcami v núdzi, v centre Bosco Boys, kde prebieha moja ročná misia už od novembra 2021. Počas môjho doterajšieho pôsobenia som odpozoroval oblasti, v ktorých by mohlo centrum rásť a modernizovať sa. Preto prichádzam s prosbou o pomoc pri realizovaní tohto projektu. 

Súhrn projektu:

Rehabilitačné centrum Bosco Boys poskytuje domov kenským chlapcom ulice. V centre sa nachádzajú chlapci vo veku približne od 10 do 20 rokov. Pred tým, ako sa dostanú do centra, strávia na ulici mesiace, až roky. Ulica im poskytne špinu, neistotu, bitku, drogy, sex, naučí ich zlému správaniu, oberie ich o vzdelanie. Mnohí z nich do centra prichádzajú ako drogovo závislí, neschopní pozornosti, veľmi výbušní alebo naopak, veľmi tichí. Naše centrum Bosco Boys Langata, je teda prvým kontaktom s týmito chlapcami z ulice, kde sa ich snažíme reštartovať a pripraviť na formáciu a vzdelávanie. Je im tu poskytnuté ubytovanie, strava, v zjednodušenom režíme aj vyučovanie, priestor na modlitbu, rozhovor s psychológom. Zvyšok času trávia športovaním a hraním hier. Hry zastrešujú významnú úlohu v procese rehabilitácie a taktiež pomáhajú pri vytváraní nových priatelstiev .

Aby sa chlapci nenudili, alebo nemysleli na to, čo museli znášať tam vonku, majú k dispozícií niekoľko hier ako napráklad šachy, puzzle, stolný tenis, ale zo všetkého najradšej hrajú kalčeto. V centre máme jedno staré kalčeto. Napriek tomu že je len domácky vyrobené, medzi chlapcami je veľmi obľúbené. Trávia pri ňom veľa času. Počas môjho 6 mesačného pôsobenie v tomto centre som odpozoroval, že táto hra je naozaj účinným nástrojom, aby sa chlapci rehabilitovali. Poskytuje im možnosť byť v kolektíve, spolupracovať v tímoch, súťažiť medzi sebou, učí ich deliť sa keď sa pri hre striedajú.

 

Kalčeto v našom centre je v dezolatnom stave. Navyše je iba jedno použiteľné a v čase keď máme v centre aj 50 chlapcov, dokáže uspokojiť len malé percento z nich. Preto vidím kúpu dvoch nových kalčiet ako veľký prínos pre rozvoj chlapcov v centre. 

Okrem interiérových hier majú chlapci raz denne športové aktivity na ihrisku. Väčšinou hrajú futbal avšak niektorí si radi zahrajú aj basketbal alebo volejbal. Keďže chlapci hrajú tieto hry veľmi oduševnene, lopty sú opotrebované a zničené. Nové lopty by prispeli k záujmu k hre a kvalite zápasov. Športové zápasy sú veľmi dôležité, aby sa chlapci dostatočne vybehali, vydali energiu a boli fit ako fyzicky, tak aj psychicky.

Nakoniec veľkým nedostatkom je športová obuv. Chlapci behajú po ihrisku v kroksach alebo sú bosí. Máloktorý má poriadne topánky, ktoré dostal prostredníctvom nejakých sponzorov alebo darov. Niektorí si športovú obuv zdieľajú, a tak majú na jednej nohe topánku a na druhej kroksu alebo bosú nohu. Športovou obuvou by sme vedeli zabezpečiť 50 chlapcov, Takéto množstvo chlapcov z ulice sa u nás vystrieda približne za pol roka.

Rozpočet:

Vďaka získaným finančným prostriedkom by sme vedeli nakúpiť stolné futbaly / kalčetá, lopty na futbal, volejbal a basketbal a futbalové kopačky. Cieľová suma je 1650€, avšak v prípade nižšej sumy budú kúpené len prvé položky z nasledujúcej tabuľky:

V prípade že vyzbierame vyššiu ako cieľovú sumu, nakúpime ďalšie športové náradie ako napríklad bedminton, lietajúce taniere alebo futbalové dresy.

Integrating street boys back into society through sports and games.

Hi! I'm Juraj. I am in Africa, among the boys in need, at the Bosco Boys Center, where my annual mission has been running since November 2021. During my time here, I have observed areas where the center could grow and modernize. Therefore, I come for help in implementing this project.

Project summary:

The Bosco Boys Rehabilitation Center provides a home for Kenyan street boys. There are boys between the ages of about 10 and 20 in the center. Before they get to the center, they spend months, even years on the street. The street gives them dirt, insecurity, battle, drugs, and sex, teaches them bad behavior, and robs them of their education. Many of them come to the center as drug addicts, incapable of attention, very explosive, or conversely, very quiet. Our Bosco Boys Langata Center is therefore the first contact with these boys from the street, where we are trying to restart them and prepare them for formation and education. They are provided with accommodation, food, education in a simplified mode, space for prayer, and conversation with a psychologist. The rest of their time they spend doing sports and playing games. Games play an important role in the rehabilitation process and also help them to make new friendships.

So that the boys don't get bored or don't think about what they had to endure out there, they have several games at their disposal, such as chess, puzzles, and table tennis, but they prefer to play calcite. We have old calcite in the center. Although it is only homemade, but it is very popular among boys. They spend a lot of time with it. During my 6 months at this center, I have noticed that this game is a really effective tool for boys to rehabilitate. It gives them the opportunity to be in a team, to cooperate in teams, to compete with each other, and it teaches them to share when they take turns playing.

The calcite in our center is in a dilapidated condition. In addition, there is only one usable, and at a time when we have 50 boys in the center, only a small percentage of them can be satisfied. Therefore, I see the purchase of two new calcites as a great benefit for the development of the boys in the center.

In addition to indoor games, the boys have sports activities on the playground once a day. They usually play football, but some also like to play basketball or volleyball. As the boys play these games very soulfully, the balls are damaged and destroyed. The new balls would contribute to the interest in the game and the quality of the matches. Sports matches are significant for the boys to run well, release energy and be fit both physically and mentally.

Finally, a big drawback is sports shoes. The boys run on the playground in croc's shoes or are barefoot. Few have proper shoes that they have received through some sponsors or gifts. Some boys share sports shoes, so they have a proper shoe on one foot and a crocs shoe on the other or barefoot. With this project, we would be able to provide 50 boys with sports shoes. Such a number of boys from the street will take turns in our center in about half a year.

Budget:

Thanks to the obtained funds, we would be able to buy table football/calcite, soccer balls, volleyballs and basketballs, and football boots. The target amount is € 1650, but if the amount will be lower, only the first items in the following table will be purchased:

If we collect more than the target amount, we will buy other sports equipment such as badminton, frisbees, or football jerseys.
